Do-it-yourself Venetian putty

We create luxurious Venetian putty with our own hands: step by step
Do-it-yourself Venetian putty is possible or not? Venetian putty is not only luxurious, but also extremely stylish decoration for any interior. Its shiny texture and marble effect give the room refinement and elegance. And although it seems that this technique requires professional skills, in fact, anyone who has the desire and a little time can handle its creation. Here is a step-by-step guide to help you create your own DIY Venetian putty.
Step 1: Surface preparation
First, it is necessary to prepare the surface on which the putty will be applied. It should be clean, dry and even. Ensure that there is no old paint or peeling plaster on the surface. Clean the walls, remove dust and dirt, and patch any cracks or unevenness.
Step 2: Applying the preparatory layer
After preparing the surface, apply a preparatory layer. For this, you can use a special putty or primer for plasterboard. Spread the putty evenly over the entire surface and wait for it to dry completely.
Step 3: Preparation of the putty mixture
Now that the surface is prepared, prepare the Venetian putty mixture. It is usually a combination of slaked lime, marble powder and special pigments to give color. Mix these components in the appropriate proportions, following the instructions on the package.
Step 4: Applying the first layer of putty
Start applying the first layer of Venetian putty on the prepared surface. Use a spatula or thin mistral to evenly distribute the putty. Move the surface in different directions to create texture and a marble effect.
Step 5: Applying the second layer of putty
After the first layer dries, apply a second layer of putty. Again, move in different directions, trying to create variety and depth of texture.
Step 6: Leveling and Polishing
When the second layer is partially dry, level the surface with a smooth spatula. Then polish the surface with a soft cloth or gauze. This step will help give the putty a smoother and shiny texture.
Step 7: Finishing Touches
At the last stage, you can add the finishing touches. To do this, apply the last layer of putty or protective varnish for greater shine and durability.
Enjoy the result of your work and surprise your guests with your talent.
